Mannington committee hears public works update on road flooding, considers resale CO proposal and notes Fenwick Solar Farm procedure

Mannington Township — At its Sept. 4 meeting the Mannington Township Committee received reports on public works, zoning and other routine business.
Deputy Mayor Eber gave the Public Works report for August, saying the Kubota tractor has been repaired, the department is looking for a new truck and that contractors will need to return to address recurring flooding at the corner of Mannington–Yorktown Road.
Mayor Asay reviewed the zoning report and said Zoning/Housing Officer Robert Schmid had raised the idea of requiring Certificates of Occupancy for property resale (not just for rental properties). Mayor Asay said he will ask Mr. Schmid to attend the next township meeting to discuss the proposal.
Under other business Committeeman DiGregorio said he had been contacted by John Sever, director of engineering and planning for Salem County, about the proposed Fenwick Solar Farm project. Solicitor Horner reiterated that the Planning Board must follow established protocol for applicants and that the Township Committee cannot interfere with that process.
Routine receipts filed for August included: Tax Collector receipts of $1,344,083.72; Mid‑Salem County Court check of $793.90; Registrar receipts of $2,095.00 (two dog licenses totaling $79.00); and Finance receipts of $636,626.59.
The meeting opened a public-comment period that the minutes show was then closed with no substantive remarks recorded. The meeting adjourned at 6:34 p.m.
