Assistant County Manager Connor Hooper, County Clerk Jaime Armstrong and Public Works Director Dion Senn were listed among those present for the 3 p.m. meeting. Representatives from the bidding firms also attended, including Landis Carnes of Bartow Paving Company Inc., Diego Schaich of Blount Construction Company Inc., Bryan Howell of C. W. Matthews Paving Contracting Co. Inc., and James Youmans of J.T.R Enterprises Inc.
The bids submitted were: Blount Construction Company, Inc., $392,532.76 (including up to 730 tons of patching); J.T.R Enterprises Inc., $338,754.00; Bartow Paving Company, Inc., $404,281.00; Northwest Georgia Paving, Inc., $335,682.18; and C. W. Matthews Paving Contracting Co., Inc., $370,800.00. After reviewing the submissions, the committee recommended awarding the work to Northwest Georgia Paving, Inc. for $335,682.18, to be paid from the county’s 2014 SPLOST funds.
No vote tally, mover/second or additional conditions were recorded in the minutes. The committee adjourned after the recommendation.
