The Northern Local Schools Board approved a large personnel package at its Feb. 20 meeting that included retirements (notably Tyrone Davis, high‑school associate principal, effective June 30, 2025), resignations and a series of certified and classified hires and substitutes for the 2024‑25 and 2025‑26 school years.
Board action also authorized administrator contract expiration notices for Kelly Wright, Rachel Dolsky and Catina Brown (contracts expiring July 31, 2025) and approved an FMLA/maternity leave request for Hannah DeSanto (approximately 12 weeks beginning about April 16, 2025). The board approved supplemental coaching contracts, a Holy Trinity tutor paid from auxiliary/equitable service funds, and multiple certified and classified contract renewals (one‑, two‑ and five‑year renewals) as presented.
In curriculum and instruction business, Mrs. Miller moved and the board approved the 2025‑26 school calendar upon final reading, the 2025‑26 high‑school curriculum guide, updated special education model policies and procedures, continued membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association, graduation requirements, several high‑school field trips for the 2024‑25 year, and approval of four students for early graduation.
All personnel and curriculum motions were approved by roll call 5‑0. The board did not take additional action on administrator renewals beyond issuing notice of expiration; those renewals remain subject to separate renewal decisions.
