Council directs staff to seek Fox Gives grant for auditorium; redevelopment update given on EastPoint Exchange

The grant portal opened June 8 and the single‑year application deadline is July 31; council voted to direct city staff to pursue the opportunity.
Separately, Council member Atkins provided a brief progress report on the EastPoint Exchange redevelopment and Path Project, saying developers’ attorneys and the city attorney are finalizing a redevelopment agreement and that more detailed documents will come before council soon. The mayor and city attorney said the P3 resolution previously passed was only the start and that additional purchase, reimbursement and project terms will be presented to the council as negotiations progress.
The motions passed by voice vote; staff will follow up with the city manager’s office and relevant departments to prepare any grant applications and return with recommended terms or next steps for council consideration.
