Chairwoman Ambre DeVirgilio called the Americana Economic Development District meeting to order at 8:26 p.m. on Feb. 10 and said she will coordinate with "Mrs. Ford" on a disbursement to the city tied to the Americana Development, which she hopes will be ready for consideration at the next meeting.
The governing authority unanimously approved the minutes of its Jan. 13, 2026 regular meeting after a motion by Brandy Westmoreland and a second from John LeBlanc. The motion passed with Westmoreland, LeBlanc and DeVirgilio recorded as voting "yes"; James Graves and Jennifer Landry were listed as absent.
During the brief discussion, Westmoreland described ongoing work on the development's suites and said she expects future activity and growth to center around that area. DeVirgilio added that much of the city’s current business activity is concentrated on the east side of town and said she hopes the Americana project will help draw increased growth and traffic to the west side.
The meeting concluded with an adjournment at 8:30 p.m.; the minutes were signed by Clerk Karen Burdette and Chairwoman DeVirgilio. No ordinance votes, expenditures, contracts or deadlines beyond the planned disbursement coordination were recorded in the minutes.
