Select board approves committee roster, limits one member’s meeting availability

The Wolfeboro Board of Selectmen voted April 22 to adopt an amended committee assignments list and to note a limitation on one member’s meeting availability.

Chair opened the continuation meeting by saying the group needed to confirm committee assignments and reporting expectations. Members corrected an end-of-term date for one entry, moving O’Brien’s term end from 2028 to 2027, and adjusted membership on the bike-trails roster after John said he could not attend morning meetings this year.

John (select board member) told the board he "can't be there" for 9 a.m. meetings and later said he would be available "after 2:00 in the afternoon." After discussion, the board formalized the change and agreed that "Mister Thurston cannot attend meetings until after 3PM," a constraint the chair said would be noted on committee assignments. Linda (select board member) asked that the restriction be clearly recorded so committees know when members are unavailable.

Board members also volunteered to cover the bike-trails committee after Thurston stepped back. A motion to approve the amended committee roster was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.

The board instructed staff to include an asterisk on the committee list for boards that receive town funding and to attach quarterly-reporting expectations to those entries. Chair closed the item by asking staff to circulate the updated list to members and to the public in the next packet.

Next steps: The amended committee list will be distributed to the select board and appended to committee packets; committee chairs will be informed of reporting and attendance expectations.
