RSU 23 board holds two executive sessions on legal and labor matters, then adjourns

Superintendent John Suttie called the RSU 23 Board to order at 5:00 p.m. April 12 at Old Orchard Beach Town Hall. The board recited the Pledge of Allegiance and recorded attendance of board members Dave Boudreau, Peter Flaherty, Donna Moutsatsos, Craig Evans and Sally Beatty.
At 5:02 p.m. Craig Evans moved and Peter Flaherty seconded that the board enter executive session to "discuss legal rights & duties of [the] school unit" under 1 M.R.S.A. § 405(6)(E). The motion carried unanimously. The board exited that executive session at 5:26 p.m. after a motion from Peter Flaherty, seconded by Sally Beatty, which also passed unanimously.
One minute later, at 5:27 p.m., Sally Beatty moved and Craig Evans seconded that the board enter a second executive session to discuss "information in [a] labor contract" under 1 M.R.S.A. § 405(6)(D). The motion was approved unanimously.
After concluding business in executive session, Craig Evans moved and Sally Beatty seconded a motion to exit executive session and adjourn the meeting; the board approved the motion and adjourned at 6:47 p.m.
