The Warrington Township Board of Supervisors approved a series of routine fiscal and procurement items at its Sept. 9 meeting, including required pension obligations, contractor awards and an insurance change.
The board adopted the 2026 minimum municipal obligations presented by the township manager: $136,211 for the nonuniform defined‑contribution plan, $67,202 for the nonuniform defined‑benefit plan and $1,200,681 for the police defined‑benefit plan. Supervisors discussed the timing of pension‑committee review and agreed to share the information with the pension committee and revisit if necessary.
Procurement actions approved by voice vote included awarding a roof‑replacement contract for 3410 Pigletown Road to Beaver Home Improvement LLC (low qualified bid: $77,240.22; project budget $75,000; capital‑fund reserves available to cover the overage); awarding the 2025–2026 road‑salt contract to Morton Salt Inc at $61.86 per ton delivered; and accepting a Standard Insurance Company proposal for short‑term disability, long‑term disability, life and AD&D coverage effective Nov. 1, 2025 (staff estimated first‑year savings of about $33,000). The board also approved adding Univest as an authorized township depository to diversify some reserve funds.
During consent‑agenda review the board pulled items 13.1 and 13.4 for additional documentation and to ensure compliance with Sunshine Law posting; the remaining consent items were approved by voice vote. Several citizen non‑agenda comments were taken later in the meeting, and the meeting adjourned after routine closing business.
