Building Needs report: high school roof near completion, pavilion and courts progressing

The Building Needs committee updated the RSU 23 School Board on summer projects, reporting the high school roof is nearly finished and several facilities improvements were completed or underway.
Committee member Peter Flaherty reported the high school roof is "95% done and is coming in under budget." He said Joseph E. Stevens (JES) has a new parking lot and striping, server upgrades are in progress, and new dishwashers were installed at LMS and JES through grant funding. Flaherty said the pavilion is close to completion and expected to be finished by October, the tennis courts by the high school are nearly complete, and scoreboards at the soccer and football fields were scheduled to be installed in a two-day project starting the following Tuesday.
The minutes credit janitorial and maintenance staff—named Kevin and Mark in the superintendent's remarks—for extensive summer work that kept facilities in good shape before the school year.
The committee noted that the roof project was coming in under budget but the minutes do not provide contract values or final budget figures; the pavilion and other site improvements will return to committee discussion next month for further updates.
