RSU 23 board votes to send school construction applications to Maine DOE and approves one-year math hire

The RSU 23 School Board voted Aug. 22 to send school construction applications to the Maine Department of Education and approved a one-year hire for a high school math teacher during its meeting at Old Orchard Beach Town Hall.

Board member David Boudreau moved to send the district's school construction applications to the Maine Department of Education; board member Peter Flaherty seconded the motion and the minutes record the vote as 'all in favor.' Chair Craig Evans then put forward a motion to approve the nomination of Matthew Beattie as a one-year math teacher at Old Orchard Beach High School; Donna Moutsatsos seconded that motion and the board again voted 'all in favor.'
