Loranger staff present school update; student rep highlights winter sports and IXL competition

Student Representative Joana Massanga reported that the winter sports season has begun with three girls teams and two boys teams. She said the Hiking Club's December theme is "Hiking, Hot Cocoa and Holiday Lights," Riley Provencher was named Old Orchard Beach High School student of the month for November, and the IXL competition concludes tomorrow at 2:45 p.m., when a winner will be announced.
The Curriculum Committee reviewed the BARR program and discussed a professional development and wellness block that rotates content monthly; Assistant Superintendent Eric Hanson is recruiting teacher workshop leaders.
The board approved adjournment at 6:40 p.m.
