Representative proposes dispensary and lounge at 31–33 E. Park Avenue

Reed Sutton, speaking on behalf of Angela Collier, presented a proposal to the Merchantville Borough Council on Nov. 17 to open a second cannabis facility — a combined dispensary and lounge — at 31–33 E. Park Avenue.
Sutton told the council the project would include remediation and equipment removal, an ADA-accessible bathroom, a mural on the Park Avenue-facing wall and off-street parking at nearby lots. He said the business expects to create between five and 10 part- and full-time jobs and is aiming in marketing and experience at an older demographic, with many customers expected to be over 55. Sutton said the operation would include a sobriety-test plan, a local taxi partnership, rideshare access, an on-site security guard, delivery service, cameras and a vault for secure storage.
Council members pressed Sutton on how a second facility would coexist with an existing dispensary a block away. “We are targeting a different group and you will have two different experiences with the two facilities,” Sutton said, and added, “We do not think the market is saturated yet.” Council members asked for clarification on differentiation and market demand; no formal action was taken.
The council did not vote on the proposal at the meeting and said it would discuss the request and follow up with the applicant.
