Merchantville Borough Council approved a consent agenda at its Oct. 13 meeting that bundled several routine resolutions and contract authorizations.
The council approved R25-111 to amend Chapter 19 and extend the Halloween curfew for Oct. 30–31 to 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. The resolution text also refers to renaming the event "Monsterville." The resolution text contains an inconsistent internal reference to 2024 in one clause but the effect was recorded by council for Oct. 30–31, 2025.
Council approved R25-112 to participate in Camden County’s cooperative Deer Carcass Removal Services and authorized entering a contract for Oct. 1, 2025 to Sept. 30, 2026 at a cost of $65.00 per deer carcass removal with Deer Carcass Removal Services LLC.
R25-113 authorizes a second-year option under Bid B-11-2024 to award Morton Salt, Inc. for sodium chloride and pretreated enhanced sodium chloride at the county cooperative unit prices listed in the resolution ($79.85 per ton for sodium chloride; $97.85 per ton for pretreated liquid enhanced sodium chloride), contingent on available budget lines for 2025–26.
By R25-114 the borough set a fair-and-open procurement process for selection of 2026 professional service providers (municipal attorney, planner, auditor, bond counsel, engineers and other professionals). The resolution requires posting of positions and criteria on the Borough website by Oct. 15, 2025 and sets a submission deadline of 11:00 a.m. on Nov. 4, 2025, with public opening scheduled immediately thereafter.
Council authorized R25-115 to enter a three-year agreement with Camden County for Project SAVE referral services, a court-referral intervention program for municipal defendants charged with nonviolent offenses; the term is to begin on or about Jan. 1, 2026 with termination allowed upon 90 days’ notice.
R25-116 inserts $7,600 in revenue (donation — Monsterville Mash sponsorship) into the 2025 budget as a special item of revenue. Council also approved R25-118 accepting financial reports and authorizing payment of the bill list and manual checks/wires totaling $353,327.76 across current, sewer, capital and trust funds.
All items were approved by a single consent motion moved by Danniel Sperrazza and seconded by Anthony Perno.
