During the public session, Special Education Ed Tech Erin Dupee reported that RSU 23 representatives were presented with a $5,000 check from the Paul Landry Foundation on Nov. 8 to support the OOB High School Student Supply Closet.
Dupee said last year’s donation enabled the closet to provide socks, deodorant, hygiene products, clothing for job interviews, dresses for dances, shoes and senior photo packages. Dupee added that she, Barbara Roberge and Bethany Rocheleau attended a dinner at the Mason Lodge where they were presented with Hannaford gift cards totaling $2,100 to further support student needs.
Superintendent John Suttie read the correspondence recognizing RSU 23 educators from Dr. Carol Marcotte of the University of New England and thanked staff and volunteers who help distribute donated resources.
The gifts are recorded in the meeting minutes as community support to be used for student supplies and related needs; no board appropriation or budget action was recorded during the meeting.
