RSU 23 elects Craig Evans chair, David Boudreau vice chair; board approves policies and personnel changes

The RSU 23 School Board on Dec. 21 elected Craig Evans as board chair and David Boudreau as vice chair and approved a series of routine items, including minutes and personnel paperwork.
Craig Evans was nominated for chair by David Boudreau and seconded by Donna Moutsatsos; the board voted unanimously to elect Evans. Peter Flaherty moved, seconded by Craig Evans, to nominate David Boudreau for vice chair; an alternate nomination for Barbara Roberge received no second, and the board then approved Flaherty’s motion unanimously.
The board accepted the Nov. 16, 2023 meeting minutes after a motion by David Boudreau and second by Peter Flaherty. On policy matters, Barbara Roberge read the second reading of Policy IKF; Craig Evans moved to accept the second reading, Peter Flaherty seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Superintendent John Suttie presented a revised School Counselor job description that he said had been reviewed over the summer with Eric Hanson and current counselors to reflect changes in the position over the past four or five years. A motion by Dave Boudreau, seconded by Donna Moutsatsos, approved the job description unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m. after a motion by Craig Evans and second by Donna Moutsatsos that passed unanimously.
