Sunrise Engineering reports generator delivery, sewer easement work and proposed Hokanson sidewalks

Kade Smith, engineer with Sunrise Engineering, told the council three project updates: the automatic transfer switch for the East booster generator shipped from Cummins at the end of February and the generator itself was scheduled to ship on March 20 with installation planned for early April; surveyor Scherbel prepared easement descriptions for the North Sewer Line and Town Attorney Kevin Voyles is drafting agreements for affected landowners; and Sunrise is preparing a WYDOT Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Statement of Interest for sidewalks on Hokanson Avenue, which would connect to existing sidewalks on King Street and include a bus stop shelter at the Dana Street crosswalk.
On the North Sewer Line project, Smith said eleven properties could potentially connect to the new system, seven of which are granting easements. The council recommended allowing properties within 300 feet of the new sewer main two years to hook up and suggested imposing a fine for failure to connect within that period. The council also discussed outreach to landowners about the project.
Why it matters: these are capital and infrastructure items that affect town services, property connections to sewer, pedestrian connectivity, and near-term procurement and construction schedules.
What’s next: staff and the town attorney will complete easement agreements and follow up on property-owner notification; WYDOT will schedule a site visit on sidewalks in May to discuss TAP eligibility and design details.
