Thayne approves payment for East Booster generator; engineers update sewer projects

Sunrise Engineering representative Kade Smith updated the council on several infrastructure projects and requested payment for work already completed. Smith said WS Construction finished the generator pad, conduit installation and exterior work for the East Booster Pump Station; the backup generator is expected to arrive in late December and the automatic transfer switch was relocated to provide additional clearance. Smith presented payment request #1 from WS Construction for $66,880 with 5% retention ($3,344), for a total payment of $63,536. Councilmember Passey moved to approve the payment request; the motion carried unanimously.
Smith also updated the council on the Thayne North Sewer Line Project, reporting that most easements have been secured verbally and that an exhibit had been prepared for a property owned by Butch Roberts. Sunrise is working with town attorney Kevin Voyle on a memorandum of understanding while finalizing easements; design work is expected to begin this winter with construction targeted for spring. Smith reported the wastewater facility plan is being finalized with solid data and that the mayor requested a facility walkthrough once the plan is complete, with Councilmember Visser identified as the project point of contact.
The council recorded the payment authorization for WS Construction and received schedule and procedural updates for sewer planning and easement work. No vote was required on the planning items beyond discussion and direction to continue coordination with the town attorney.
