Thayne council approves utility connection permit for Bear Hollow property

At its Nov. 19 meeting the Thayne Town Council approved a utility connection permit allowing High Peaks Construction to connect 30 Bear Hollow Circle to the town water system despite the property being technically outside town limits. Mayor Simpson said the connection was permitted because it would not be directly on the town's line, but council members required installation of a master meter and a vault before the connection could be used.
Councilmember Passey confirmed that all parts for the master meter project had been received except for the vault itself. The council voted to approve the connection permit with the stipulation that the connection not be activated until the master meter and vault were in place and formally accepted by the town.
The motion to approve the connection permit was moved by Councilmember Passey, seconded by Councilmember Pelletier, and carried unanimously. The council did not record additional conditions beyond the requirement for the master meter and vault and the activation restriction.
