River Ridge board accepts resignation; seeks candidates to fill Seat 1
Summary
The board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1) and agreed to solicit interest and resumes from residents to fill the unexpired term; staff will present candidate materials at a future meeting.
Cleo Adams presented the resignation letter of James Gilman, whose seat was expiring in November 2026. On a motion by Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Robert Twombly, the board unanimously accepted Gilman’s resignation.
Because the vacancy will be filled by appointment rather than election, board members asked Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager to e-blast residents about the opening, qualifications and the procedure for submitting a resume or letter of interest. The board noted that appointment procedures, administration of the oath of office and mandatory ethics training and disclosure filings will be handled at a future meeting.
The board did not make an appointment at the Aug. 27 session; staff will include candidate packages on the next agenda for formal consideration.
