Premier Lakes reports algae control and lower compressor noise; board pauses Lake E4-A plantings pending Edgewater agreement

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes reported that lake preserves and dry retention areas are in good shape but seasonal algae growth was observed. He said a cabinet installed around a compressor reduced the Masters Lake sound level from 64 to 52 decibels, which he judged acceptable between the compressor and the screen line, and that plantings are scheduled for installation in the near future.
Operations Manager Shane Willis told the Board that "the issue is not so much about the decibels but it is the tone of the aerator," and the Board discussed relocating the compressor and easement implications. Mr. Willis will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth on potential compressor relocation and report back at the next meeting.
Board Chair Bob Schultz summarized issues in Edgewater — flooding, piping, littorals and rip-rap — and recommended staff meet with the Edgewater association to seek a mutually acceptable solution. The consensus at the meeting was to avoid planting Canna lilies and to delay Lake E4-A plantings until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Condo Association; staff will resubmit proposals after coordination.
