Litchfield planning chairman urges Town Planner hire as permit revenue falls; tech update notes WiFi coverage issues

Bramley suggested hiring a Town Planner on a part‑time or per‑diem basis to vet larger projects and recommended combining roles (Town Planner and Land Use Administrator) with a part‑time zoning enforcement officer to address capacity problems and revenue tracking.
Bramley also said the Land Use Office does not currently have access to PermitLink and that revenues may not be fully reflected in town records as a result. First Selectman Denise Raap confirmed an individual has expressed interest in a 30‑hour/week zoning enforcement officer position subject to a memorandum of understanding with the union.
On technology matters, Selectman John Bongiorno said the Board may accept the Acceptable Use Policy as presented with some wording adjustments and that work is ongoing to develop an Artificial Intelligence policy. He reported the town’s WiFi‑on‑the‑Green system is installed but some access points are configured too low; he has contacted Frontier to request configuration changes and a coverage map.
