Litchfield selectmen approve appointments, reappointments and change meeting location for May budget meeting

The Litchfield Board of Selectmen approved several appointments and procedural items during its April 21 meeting.
The Board appointed David O'Hara as a regular member of the Technology Committee with a term ending April 2028 after a brief interview. The Board also appointed Keith Shortsleeve to a regular seat on the Water Pollution Control Authority with a term ending January 2029; Shortsleeve had previously resigned from an alternate position effective April 10, 2026.
The Board reappointed Michael Lyn Cappello and First Selectman Denise Raap to the Northwestern Connecticut Transit District, with terms ending May 2030. The Board approved a single tax refund totaling $121.62.
In a motion read into the minutes and adopted unanimously, the Board resolved to change the location of the May 14, 2026 Town Budget Meeting from Litchfield Intermediate School to Lakeview High School, 98 Wamogo Road. John Bongiorno read the resolution into the record and the motion passed with all present voting aye.
The Board also voted to table discussion of the Board of Education election to the May 5 meeting. No members voiced opposition to the motions recorded in the minutes.
