Carlos to submit lead service-line inventory; seal-coat and alley projects move forward

City engineer Jared Voge told the Carlos City Council on June 11 that Bolton & Menk contacted Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. about the 2026 seal coat improvement schedule and that work is anticipated in July or August. Lakes Area Excavating is scheduled to begin the Alley Improvement Project on June 16, 2026.
Voge also confirmed that Public Works Supervisor Kalin Hacker completed homeowner-side inspections for the Lead Service Line Inventory and that Bolton & Menk will submit the inventory on the city’s behalf by the June 30, 2026 deadline. The minutes state completion of the inventory is necessary for the city to qualify for the Galvanized Service Line Replacement Identification Program (IDP).
Council asked staff to report back on project schedules and to provide further details about potential impacts to residents during construction. No ordinance or formal vote related to these projects was recorded in the minutes at this meeting.
