The Casco Select Board on July 7 approved a town rebranding design proposed by Coco Walsh Creative LLC and presented by designer Courtney Walsh.
Walsh described the work as community driven, saying she held public workshops, conducted an online survey and met town leaders before creating the kit. “My goal has been to build a brand that authentically reflects who we are as a community,” Walsh said, and she told the board she aimed for a timeless identity that reflects Casco’s lakes, open space and volunteer culture.
Board members asked how the brand would be implemented — where the logo would appear, whether it would replace official letterhead or town seal, and whether revenue from branded merchandise should be dedicated to a special-revenue account. Staff said the town’s new website will likely host the initial materials and that formal decisions on signage, official stationery and special accounts would follow board direction.
Courtney Walsh said she will deliver digital files and brand guidelines to direct future use, and offered to meet with staff for an implementation plan. The board moved and approved the rebranding design; members voiced support for using merchandise and community involvement as part of the rollout.
The board’s approval covers the design concept and authorizes staff to work with the designer on a rollout plan; any expenditure or signage changes that require budget action will return to the board for formal approval.
