Milton — The Milton Public Library Board of Trustees spent a two-hour session on July 7 refining multiple drafts of a planned community survey and charged Secretary Gillian Taylor to synthesize the group’s feedback into a single draft for staff review.
The trustees, who met in the library community room and by remote connection, opened the meeting at 5:32 p.m. Chair Cathy Vadnais presided. After routine business, the board used most of the meeting to workshop and edit survey language, structure and questions with Director Matthew Davis participating in the discussion.
Gillian Taylor, the board secretary, was tasked to synthesize the trustees’ edits into a final version and email that draft to Director Matthew Davis so it can be shared with all trustees prior to the August meeting. The trustees listed the survey’s final review and preliminary approval as a primary item for the August 6 agenda and discussed preparing a presentation for the select board that could highlight summer programs, a year-in-review and an update on the library’s strategic plan.
The board approved the minutes from its June 2 meeting on a motion by Trustee Joe Duquette with a second from Trustee Beth Bouchard; the motion passed unanimously. No staff feedback or Director’s report items were recorded during the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned on a motion by Joe Duquette, seconded by Henry Bonges, at 7:31 p.m. The trustees will reconvene on August 6, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in the Milton Library Community Room.
