James Stein presented proposed revisions to the board’s Rules of Procedure addressing selection of members and alternates and revised voting processes. Emily Sliviak moved to approve the changes and Stein seconded; the board recorded a unanimous aye and adopted the updates.
The board also handled officer nominations. Ken Caisse moved to nominate Emily Sliviak for chair and Richard Redding seconded the motion; the transcript records the motion but does not record a formal roll-call vote for the nomination.
Members reviewed recent attorney invoices and the ZBA budget. Sliviak said she compared prices with other attorneys and believes the board is being charged fairly; Redding asked about the attorney’s hourly rate, which Sliviak said is $180. The board discussed whether to consider an attorney located closer to Temple and noted that the current attorney, Boldt, has served the town for an extended period.
James Stein reminded new members that the New Hampshire Office of Planning and Development offers training for board members.
