Slinger RDA gets updates on downtown projects, orders court action return for Storck Street

At its Sept. 3 meeting the Slinger Redevelopment Authority learned that a developer is ready to sign agreements for 119 Kettle Moraine Drive S., the Village plans further court action on 100 Storck Street, the Slinger Historical Museum is addressing a stormwater pipe and a WEDC meeting was scheduled for the 50‑Day Brewery grant inquiry.
Village officials updated the Slinger Redevelopment Authority on several downtown properties and enforcement actions during the Sept. 3 meeting.
Village Administrator Margaret Wilber told members that the developer for 119 Kettle Moraine Drive South has informed the Village that he is ready to execute agreements, that the Planning Commission approved site and architectural plans at its August meeting, and that conditional-use and planned-unit-development public hearings are scheduled at the September Planning Commission meeting. Wilber said the developer intends to raze two existing buildings by late September. RDA member Sherry Schaefer said she will have Forward Remodeling LLC perform roof, siding and overhang work on her building adjacent to 119 Kettle Moraine Drive South.
On 100 Storck Street, Wilber reported the Village Board directed returning the matter to court with motions for contempt and requests for daily monetary penalties; motions were expected to be filed the following week. Wilber said the property owner notified staff that asbestos removal will be done and that there appears to be some activity on site but not enough to defer the court action already in progress.
Wilber also updated the board on the Slinger Historical Museum at 414 Kettle Moraine Drive South, saying the museum group is evaluating options to address a stormwater pipe that crosses the property and is working on a donated rail‑viewing platform. While researching the platform project, staff identified zoning code amendments that will be placed on the September Planning Commission agenda.
Finally, Wilber said developers for 50‑Day Brewery at 116 Kettle Moraine Drive South reported ongoing work and expect to finish by the end of the year; a meeting with President Scott Stortz, Administrator Wilber and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation was scheduled to discuss the brewery's Community Development Grant.
