Slinger recreation: fall activity guide launches, new programs succeed and Breuer family donates $500 for bike rack

Dobson said the 2025 Fall Activity Guide is live online and registrations are filling quickly. He highlighted strong summer participation in new offerings — Art Camp, a new Pom and Dance camp (which doubled enrollment for a session), and Kids Cooking Classes. The department plans a community bike event in September in partnership with the Slinger Police Department and the Slinger Community Library.
Dobson also informed the Board of a $500 donation from the Breuer Family for a bike rack at Breuer Park, given in memory of Steve Downs; Dobson thanked the family for their generosity. No formal action was taken on accepting the donation at the Aug. 4 meeting beyond recording the report.
