Slinger announces fall activity guide is live; new summer programs and community bike event planned

The Village of Slinger’s Parks, Recreation & Forestry Board received a recreation update at its Aug. 4, 2025 meeting.
Director Tony Dobson, reading a report from Supervisor Van Maanen, said the 2025 Fall Activity Guide is now live and registration is already strong. Dobson reported successful summer programs — art camp and a new Pom and Dance camp among them — and that the new Pom and Dance session doubled enrollment for the week. He also noted a recent run of Kids Cooking Classes “held in the break room near the VCR.”
The nut graf: staff described strong program demand this summer and said they expect fall sessions to continue filling quickly; the department will launch a community bike event in September in partnership with the Slinger Police Department and Slinger Community Library.
Dobson thanked the Breuer Family for a $500 donation for a bike rack at Breuer Park in memory of Steve Downs. The donation will fund installation of a rack for park users. No vote was taken; staff will continue to promote programs and manage registrations.
