County staff say LINC transit service will expand to Castle Rock pending board approval

Rand Clark, county staff lead on the LINC project, told the committee that the microtransit service has provided over 120,000 trips in Highlands Ranch during its first year, expanded into Parker and is now slated to reach Castle Rock pending a county contract and possible RTD partnership funding.
"We're bringing before the Board of County Commissioners a contract that will allow us to launch LINC in Castle Rock later this summer," Clark said, noting vans have arrived and are being wrapped for service.
Clark said the expansion will connect Castle Rock to existing park-and-ride and regional hubs, let riders connect through Lone Tree and integrate with other regional transit options. He said staff had applied to RTD partnership funds to expand service further into south Parker and adjacent unincorporated areas.
Commissioner Laden and Mayor Gray praised municipal partnerships and noted transportation remains a recurring barrier for vulnerable residents seeking employment, medical visits and other services. Clark said the board will consider the contract at its next meeting and the county will announce a launch date after approval.
No formal vote was taken at the initiative meeting; the item will move to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration.
