Shannon Burchett appointed Carter County highway superintendent by acclamation

Shannon Burchett addressed the commission requesting the opportunity to serve as superintendent. Commissioner Nancy Brown nominated Burchett. A motion by Aaron Frazier and second by Jerry Proffitt to cease nominations and appoint Burchett by acclamation passed on an electronic vote with 24 yes votes.
Following the vote, Burchett was sworn in by Carter County Clerk Mary Gouge. The appointment was recorded in the meeting minutes.
