Spring City Tourism and Events Commission members on March 31 advanced final logistics for the Spring City Blooms Festival, set for May 2, 2026, approving local signage and a small advertising expenditure and confirming entertainment and facilities.
The commission heard that 14 vendors have paid to participate, but only five sponsors had committed. Stephanie Strader, a commission member, reported the vendor count and said she would pay for signs and banners; members agreed to use Kilbys for sponsor signage. Jody Bauer moved to hire Kilbys for sponsor signs; Ricki Dash seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously.
Thomas McCormick, listed among the meeting guests, said he would manage newspaper advertising and suggested buying radio time with 101.1 The Eagle and boosting the festival on the Spring City Page. The commission approved a $75 social-media boost after Jody Bauer moved and Ricki Dash seconded; the motion passed with all members in favor.
Commission members reviewed operational details: Police Department contact for any road closures, set-up time at 7:30 a.m. (members to arrive by 7:15 a.m.), Porta Potties already ordered, and a recommendation to hand out seeds. Entertainment plans note Eli performing the first two hours and High Carbon Steel scheduled roughly 12:45–3:45 p.m.; Monkey Town Inflatables will provide inflatables. The commission recorded the stage rental cost as $1,200.
Thomas McCormick also reminded the group that future city sponsorships should be put out to bid with at least three bids, a procedural note the commission recorded for future procurement practices.
The commission did not record dissent on either motion. With logistics and vendors in place, members moved on to other agenda items.
