Cushing selectmen approve warrants, OK $33.58 tax abatement and cancel Dec. 26 meeting

The Cushing Board of Selectmen handled routine town business at its Nov. 14 meeting, approving warrants, a small tax abatement and canceling the December meeting.
Selectman Daniel Staples moved and Selectman Laurie Haynes seconded approval of Warrant #41 and #42; the motion carried 4-0-0. The board then voted to approve the minutes of the Oct. 24 meeting after a motion by Selectman Laurie Haynes and a second by Selectman Daniel Staples; Selectman Heidi Alley abstained because she had not attended that meeting, and the motion carried 3-0-1.
Under new business the board approved an abatement for Map 7 Lot 44 for tax year 2015 because extra acreage had been assessed in error. Selectman Daniel Staples moved to approve the abatement in the amount of $33.58; Selectman Laurie Haynes seconded and the motion carried 4-0-0.
Town Clerk Lisa Young asked whether the December Selectmen meeting, which fell on a holiday, should be moved. The board decided instead to cancel the meeting. Selectman Laurie Haynes moved, seconded by Heidi Alley, to cancel the Selectmen meeting scheduled for Dec. 26, 2016; the motion carried 4-0-0.
Selectman Daniel Staples moved and Selectman Laurie Haynes seconded to adjourn at 6:35 p.m.; the motion carried 4-0-0. The minutes were recorded by Town Clerk Lisa M. Young.
