Resident urges Shafter council to end investigation into Council member Alvarado

"I personally do not believe there is significant evidence to justify, continue to spend, taxpayer money pursuing this matter," Hill said. He urged the council to seek a resolution and allow the city to focus on services, businesses and youth programs.
Hill framed his remarks in appeals for unity and reconciliation, citing community ties and faith: "At the end of day, we are human. We are neighbors... Let us focus on the things that bring us together rather than the things that pull us apart." The council did not take formal action on that request during the meeting.
The comment was entered into the public record; if the council chooses to act on the request it would require a future agenda item and formal council action.
