Local public works praised for storm aid after Griffith tornado

Cohen left the letter with the council for the town record.
The council responded with thanks. The presiding official told Cohen and the assembled members that the town appreciated the help and noted the makeup of municipal departments working together. Several council members also praised police and fire personnel for their roles during the event.
Cohen read the names of the St John employees he said assisted: “Gabe Wheaton, James Metro, Bridal Dawson, Caleb Lindemholder, Ashton Verbesch, Landon Sarki, John Garin, and Graham Hoffman.” He said crews worked through high temperatures and that the assistance helped ensure public safety at the festival.
No formal action was required; the council accepted the letter and thanked the visiting supervisor. The next agenda item moved forward after the council’s remarks.
