Silver Creek Township authorizes road work specs, tractor repair and WHE security upgrade

The Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors on June 2 authorized a series of maintenance and infrastructure actions aimed at moving forward on road repairs and security upgrades.
Maintenance presenter Chris K. reported plans to prepare specifications for chip sealing 150th gravel at an estimated $2,000–$3,000 to inform bidding. The board asked staff to obtain quotes for cleaning a ditch at 135th and Baker Avenue and requested photos of the site.
Supervisor Christensen moved (seconded by Supervisor Nelson) to proceed with repair work on Tractor 6430, not to exceed $3,500 including diagnosis; the motion carried 3-0. The minutes record that overlay work on 134th exceeded its budget by $5,787.50 due to additional materials.
The board approved two nights’ hotel and meals for the maintenance employee to attend training June 8–9. In old business the board approved up to $6,000 for WHE installations and upgrades to security/punch pads (motion by Supervisor Christensen, seconded by Supervisor Nelson; recorded as carried 3-0).
What happens next: staff will prepare chip-seal specifications and solicit quotes for ditch cleaning and the WHE installation; authorized repairs and training are to proceed within the approved spending limits.
