Silver Creek authorizes landowner permit for Monticello Trailblazers snowmobile route

At the Feb. 17 meeting, Marty Posthumus, representing the Monticello Trailblazers, asked Silver Creek Township to sign a landowner permit or provide a letter authorizing use of township right-of-way for a snowmobile route shown on the WC snowmobile trail map. The board discussed whether insurance for liability would be provided under the state trail system and then approved signing the permit.
Supervisor Andy Christensen moved and Vice Chairman Brandon Geyen seconded the motion to sign the permit as provided by the association; the motion passed 5-0. The board recorded that the chairman will sign the permit and that maintenance staff should coordinate any necessary site work or ROW access.
