Silver Creek Township approves payroll, bills and a $35/hour maintenance hire

On personnel, the board approved a job offer for Candidate 4 at $35 per hour with a six-month probationary period (motion by Supervisor Nelson, seconded by Chair Helman; carried 4-0). The board further authorized offering the same terms to Candidate 3 if Candidate 4 declines and indicated a potential second hire within the next 6–12 months because of an anticipated retirement in April 2027.
These motions were routine administrative approvals recorded in the minutes; the clerk’s written report included two requests for board action (publication of the open-book meeting notice and payment for 16 hours of CTAS training), both of which were approved 4-0.
