SACRAMENTO — At the June 17, 2026 public meeting of the Occupational Safety and Health Appeals Board, Chairperson Ed Lowry reported on recent discussions at the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Advisory Committee that highlighted continuing workplace-safety priorities.
Chairperson Ed Lowry said the advisory committee discussed training, policy and procedures, staff vacancies and emergency preparedness. He reported that DOSH has budget change proposals for expanding units, including for the Bureau of Investigations (BOI), and that work continues on silica exposure issues stemming from engineered stone production and fabrication.
Lowry also told the Board that the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) is communicating with hospitals regarding Ebola preparedness and related protocols. The report did not record new rule adoptions or immediate regulatory changes; rather, it summarized ongoing advisory activity and resource planning.
