The Woodstock Planning Board reviewed two sketch-plan items: a proposed carport/structure and a lot-line adjustment involving Woodstock Property Inc. and Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corporation.
For the carport, a presenter described a timber frame atop a steel structure with a dark gray asphalt roof; the site was described as shielded by trees and separated from nearby houses. Members confirmed the structure would have minimal exterior lighting (path lights) and that it would be dark-sky compliant.
The board voted to leave the carport matter for further review, after discussing dimensions (about 22 feet by 20 feet), materials and minimal lighting. A board member also emphasized that parking availability in town is higher than perceived when considering overflow areas, although neighbors and the church earlier in the meeting raised practical concerns about location and surfacing.
On the parcel matter, representatives noted the property includes an old Central Hudson substation and utility lines that limit municipal use; the board discussed whether the town should pursue the parcel and noted that DEC or other agency approvals (and the potential need for a public hearing) could be part of any transfer or water-court permit process.
No formal final decisions about the parcel transfer were recorded; the board said additional agency approvals and public hearings might be required before any change in ownership or use.
The board proceeded to administrative business and scheduled a July 3 workshop for training and continuing-education matters.
