Commission explores joining CRIS/NPS audio-tour grant for Washington–Rochambeau Trail sites

Commissioner Rhea Klein and resident Kevin Drake told the panel they met with Diane Weaver Dunne of Connecticut Radio Information System (CRIS) to discuss a grant application to the National Park Service that, if awarded, would fund a smartphone audio tour for five historical sites on the Washington–Rochambeau Trail, including Bolton Heritage Farm.
Kevin said the Commission would need to provide a narrative and materials for a three- to five-minute audio recording outlining the farm’s history. Rhea said the project is intended to make the farm more accessible to people with disabilities. Jim Rupert has provided a letter of interest from the Town, and Rhea said she has been in touch with the curator about fees and a potential downsized scope of the project.
Kevin indicated he would follow up with Diane Weaver Dunne and copy the Commission on that communication. The Commission did not vote on committing funds at this meeting; Rhea said she would reach out if she needs help with the grant work.
