Louisa County supervisors approve claims, contracts, appointment and actuary engagement

The Louisa County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 21 approved a bundle of routine and contractual items during its regular session.
By motion, the Board approved county claims totaling $290,775.52. Payroll changes presented included a new hire, Brandi Cox, as a cook at $17.00 per hour. The Board approved signing an agreement with the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to support the Louisa County Pre-Disaster Hazard Mitigation Plan and approved a separate contract with the Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission to assist in developing the multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan.
The Board voted to authorize the Chair to sign a Nyhart agreement to prepare the county's 509A actuary report, approved an estimate of $2,465 to inspect HVAC units for heating operation at the county complex, and appointed Ashley Bartenhagen to the Louisa County Board of Health. Adam Shutt, County Engineer, and department staff provided routine weekly and monthly updates to the Board during the meeting.
All motions on these consent and contract items were recorded as made and seconded as listed in the minutes and carried under the Board's standard practice of recording members as "AYE" unless otherwise noted.
