The Prattville City Council on July 9 approved a series of procurement and budget actions totaling roughly $446,160, including a $202,802 purchase for information technology, equipment for public works and wastewater, and a $28,520 parks-and-recreation expenditure covered by sponsorships.
Councilor Newman introduced a resolution authorizing the information-technology department to buy an expansion data pack for the city's Pure Storage server from CDW Government LLC through the Sourcewell cooperative (Contract 121923-CDW) at a cost not to exceed $202,802. After a motion and second, the council adopted the resolution by voice vote.
The council also approved two truck purchases for municipal departments under a state contract (MA220000003128-22): up to $98,936 to buy two 2026-or-newer Ford F-250 crew-cab 4x4 trucks for the wastewater department and up to $54,553 for a 2026-or-newer Ford F-250 SuperCrew 4x4 truck for Public Works. Each resolution was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Parks and recreation received authorization for a budget amendment of $28,520 to buy a trackless train system from Roundhouse Trackless Train Company LLC; Councilor Langley said the amount will be covered by sponsorships rather than general-fund dollars. The council approved the amendment without recorded opposition.
Other approved items included up to $28,500 to hire Goodwin Mills Caywood LLC for engineering design services on the South Industrial Park sign and landscaping project (the resolution cited Code of Alabama Section 39-2-2(d)(1) to justify procurement without bidding); authorization to buy a Kubota RTV for Urban Management for up to $19,420.08; and authorization to acquire a 72-inch Toro mower for wastewater at a cost not to exceed $13,429.21.
All regular-agenda resolutions were adopted by voice or show-of-hands votes after brief introductions and routine procedural motions. The meeting record does not show roll-call tallies for each item; the presiding officer called each resolution adopted following the voice vote.
