The Architecture Review Board approved a traditional Hampton-style residence at 1593 Deerfield Road in Watermill, a design the board described as well-sited and minimally intrusive.
Laurie of McDonough and Conroy Architects said the 9-acre parcel is a flag lot and the main house will be sited roughly 850 feet off the road. The main house is approximately 8,280 square feet with a 3,505-square-foot finished basement; the applicant said site plantings will be minimal to preserve the wooded character.
Board members praised the presentation and voted to approve the plan as submitted. The board did not impose additional landscaping conditions beyond the commitment to retain the surrounding woods.
