The Board of Aldermen's Personnel and Administration Committee in St. Louis City voted Thursday to hold a closed session to discuss hiring, firing, disciplining and the promotion of board employees, the committee chair said.
The chair moved "that portions of the meeting of the board of aldermen's personnel and administration committee be closed to the public under the provisions of 6 10 dot 0 2 1 3 and 6 10 dot 0 2 2 in order to permit the members of the committee to discuss matters related to the hiring, firing, disciplining, or promoting of employees of the board," and a member seconded the motion, according to the meeting record. The clerk called the roll and recorded 'aye' votes; the chair then asked STLTV to place the meeting in closed session and invited clerks to join.
Earlier in the meeting the committee approved the minutes for its meetings on June 10 and June 11, 2026. The chair said the motion to approve the minutes was moved by "the alderwoman from the 10th" and seconded by "the alderwoman from the 13th." The clerk recorded four 'aye' votes (Alderman Boyd, Alderman Clark Hubbard, Alderman Aldridge and President Green) and declared the motion sustained.
When the closed session concluded, the public feed returned and the chair reconvened the committee. The chair excused the alderman from the 5th for a necessary absence, and the committee then voted to adjourn.
No substantive personnel details were disclosed in the public record; the committee cited the statutory provisions given on the record as the basis for closing the session and did not describe any decisions reached while in closed session.
