The Onslow County Planning Board unanimously recommended approval June 4 of a rezoning request to change a parcel from R-8M to RA for the Feliu property (PREZ-2026-00006).
Planner Paige Shepard presented the staff overview. Board member Roger Brown moved to recommend approval; William Sanders seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Roger Brown also moved to approve the required consistency statement for PREZ-2026-00006; William Sanders seconded and the Board approved the statement.
The advisory recommendation and consistency statement will be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners for final action. Staff did not present detailed phasing, density figures, or infrastructure commitments in the transcript; those would be addressed in subsequent reviews if the rezoning is approved by the Commissioners.
