The City of Pasadena's public works department has started construction on pedestrian-safety improvements at the intersections of Marengo Avenue and Wallace Street and at Hill Avenue and Howard Street, the Rose City Report said. Construction began on June 22, 2026, and city staff said it is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2026.
Planned work includes installing rectangular rapid flashing beacons, upgrading traffic-signal poles and improving LED lighting to enhance crosswalk visibility and pedestrian safety, the announcement said. The project is intended to increase the visibility of existing crosswalks and add safety features for pedestrians.
