Trustees compiled a list of upcoming expenses and gave it to Nedza so the consultant can assist staff with budget preparation. The engagement was recorded on the meeting agenda as part of new business; no formal vote was required to receive the consultant.
During the same meeting, staff reported several routine items that may inform budget choices: the Fire Department's annual Pickle Card Report for fiscal 2024–2025 was submitted to the state, the village applied for an Early Literacy Grant to fund a Little Free Library, July's coliform test was satisfactory and a sanitary survey reported no deficiencies.
These operational reports and the consultant's engagement position village staff to refine expenditure estimates ahead of the 2025–2026 budget cycle. The board adjourned at 6:40 p.m. and set its next meeting for Sept. 3, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
