The commenter, who identified a background in education and noted one of their former students became a noted AI researcher, said data centers yield few local jobs and primarily benefit developers who receive significant tax breaks. They urged the county to "take time to sincerely ask ourselves what would be the goal" of additional data-center buildout.
Commissioners took the comment as part of the public-comment period and did not act on the moratorium request at the meeting. The commission did not discuss or vote on any moratorium policy during the session.
