The Ogdensburg Borough Council on Oct. 12 adopted Ordinance 05-2022 granting municipal consent to CSC TKR, LLC to operate a cable television system within the borough.
Councilman Nasisi moved to adopt the ordinance and Councilman Alvarez seconded. The council voted on roll call: Yeas — Alvarez, Cowdrick, Nasisi and Poyer; Nays — none; DeMeo was absent. The mayor opened the meeting to public comment prior to the final roll call and then closed the public comment period before the vote.
Stacey Walsh of 7 Cider Court asked whether CSC TKR, LLC would be the borough's only cable provider. Robert McBriar, the borough attorney, told the council the consent being granted "is not exclusive" and that companies are regulated by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and must apply to the municipality for municipal consent as part of that process.
The ordinance replaces a prior municipal consent chapter of the borough code and authorizes municipal consent for CSC TKR, LLC to proceed through the statutory municipal-consent process.
The council adopted the measure during its regular meeting; the ordinance text and municipal-consent paperwork will be posted by the clerk for public inspection.
